Music instruction for passionate and budding musicians with disabilities in the Pittsburgh area!
Music instruction for passionate and budding musicians with disabilities in the Pittsburgh area!

Our mission is to provide individualized music instruction for budding musicians with different abilities to nurture a fuller life!

We are inclusive of all diverse abilities and recognize that diagnoses can not always define all disabilities! Ms. B's experience is predominantly in teaching individuals with intellectual and/or developmental conditions, diverse cognitive abilities, mild-moderate hypotonia, delayed motor skills, speech delays, and other diverse congenital conditions.

Music instruction for children can often become a novelty experience. Music for Me PGH offers music practice and learning that is artistically executed and educationally enriching for young musicians with different abilities! Student recitals and performances are also showcased to the community. Accessibility demands visibility!

Music lessons are held in the comfort of the students home or at teacher's location. Adaptive supports or an instrument can be provided (subject to availability).
Those studying an instrument are encouraged to procure their own for consistent practice.

Every person with a tune in their heart has the potential to learn, have fun, and excel in music. A tailored and nurturing environment is created where students are understood and supported. Lessons can help to accelerate social and motor skills, creativity, and confidence through self-expression. These lead to a richer human experience!

Music for Me PGH is founded by professional string instrumentalist, educator, familial caregiver & ally Shundeena Beard. She has been providing quality music education to the Greater Pittsburgh community for over 10 years. Ms. B has extensive experience in teaching music instruction for a manifold of diverse student abilities. She loves each of her students and credits them for her enthusiasm to teach!

If you are looking for music interventions to accomplish individualized goals for specific mental and/or physical well-being, please refer to the American Music Therapy Association's webiste https://www.musictherapy.org/about/find/ to connect with a credentialed music therapist!
